Founded in 1989, Starr Medical Management is an innovative
medical billing and reimbursement firm dedicated to helping
multi-specialty medical practices get insurance claim
reimbursements in a timely manner while achieving a higher
return on their medical claims. We have years of experience
in serving physician's practices, offering medical billing,
practice management and consulting services to physician's
groups in the Northeast. Our outstanding service and
expertise enables us to provide our clients and their
patients with fast, efficient service while maximizing our
client's income level.
History
Elizabeth Ann Starr, current owner and president, founded
Starr Medical Management, Inc. in 1989. Prior to starting
Starr Medical Management, she was the Office Manager to a
general surgical group in the Ayer area for 14 years. As
Office Manager, she developed, implemented and managed all
aspects of medical office management including:
- Patient care and scheduling
- Billing and administrative systems
- Personnel hiring/training/management and
computerization.
In that role she developed a close working relationship
with members of the medical staff at the local community
hospital.
As major changes to the Medical Billing processes occurred
within the insurance companies which impacted physician
billing, Ms. Starr kept pace with those changes and soon
recognized the need to assist physicians with the increasing
billing and reporting demands. Calling upon her established
relationships, she was able to start Starr Medical
Management.
Ms. Starr's goal was to provide a service that would
relieve physicians and their staff of the billing and
management tasks thus providing the practice more time to
concentrate on patient care. By outsourcing the billing
function, practices could cut expenses and virtually
eliminate disruption of patient care from phone calls
regarding billing questions and issues.
Starr Medical Management today is a very sound company of
billing professionals who provide service to multi-specialty
physician practices. The company strongly adheres to and
maintains its initial goals, closely monitoring their
client's statistics to assure an excellent quality of
service. Our employees are measured based on the standards
we set and how those standards are reflected in the Client’s
monthly statistics. We work closely with our client offices
and and are accountable to them. In order to optimize our
effectiveness, we assess current billing processes within
each practice and develop a smooth transition to our
protocol and standards.
